Happy Halloween! featuring Girly Bits + The Polish Bar

I want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and share with you one of my festive nail looks. Halloween is one of my favorite celebrations and it makes me happy. Sometimes I think I like it more than Christmas!

Rather than the usual orange nails, I chose to go with something a little spookier and murky. I am wearing Girly Bits Dead Man's Toe and a layer of The Polish Bar Happy Haunting! I love this combination of shimmer from the Girly Bits and shifting flakies in The Polish Bar topper. So Halloweeny! What's on your nails this Halloween?

Girly Bits - What Happens in Vegas Ends Up on Twitter

Everyone once in a while a nail polish comes along and totally blows you out of the water. The beautiful polish that you see here today falls into that category. For the past 4 years, Girly Bits has released a polish inspired by the goings on at Cosmoprof North America in Vegas each summer. This year's polish is called What Happens in Vegas Ends Up on Twitter and it's amazing.

As you can see, this polish is super multidimensional. It's got shimmer, holo, glitter and probably something else I'm missing. I am wearing two easy coats with top coat. It does dry a little gritty because of the glitters but one coat was good enough to smooth everything out relatively well.

I have rekindled my love for Girly Bits recently and completely forgot how awesome Pam's polishes are. Here is my post of the 2014 edition of What Happens in Vegas... The formulas are always so smooth and they last pretty well on my nails. Lately she's been putting out some really unique polishes such as this one. I have a ton more Girly Bits that I have worn as of late to share on the blog in the coming weeks :)

Emily de Molly Hella Holo Customs - Iridescent Skies, Four Weddings and a Manicure + Desert Rose

A trio of gorgeous polishes from Emily de Molly is what you can feast your eyes on today! I don't usually post multiple polishes in one post but I like to keep you all on your toes. These three polishes come all the way from Australia and were made by Emily de Molly for Hella Holo Customs in June (I think). Can you guess which one of these was my favorite? I think my favorite might surprise you! Onto the polishes...

First up is Four Weddings and a Manicure, a greige/champagne linear holo with microglitters and pinky/purple shimmer. It's so complex and elegant and perfect for those of you who don't like in-your-face polishes. This packs a punch in the classiest way. Three thin coats plus top coat.

Second is Iridescent Skies, a light purple holo/shimmer hybrid that is SUPER sparkly and shifty. This polish flashes green and pink and even blue. It's hard to capture all the faces of this beauty but I tried. Three thin coats plus top coat.

Finally we have Desert Rose which is a super shimmery coral holo with strong gold flashes. This was a little thicker than Iridescent Skies but was similar insofar as it's a shimmer with holo but first and foremost super shimmery. Two coats plus top coat.

So... which was my favorite? If you picked Four Weddings and a Manicure then you are correct! The formula and finish really stole the show for me.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Siren's Shore Haven

Siren's Shore Haven from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer is definitely unlike any other polish in my collection (past or present). What we have here is a silvery-pink linear holographic packed with platinum micro-flakies and pink to red to gold shifting glass flecks.

This polish is very icy and complex with all those flakies and glass flecks. I am wearing two coats plus top coat. This polish wasn't the easiest to apply - it was a bit thick but Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers are designed to be worn in two coats thinning is sometimes necessary. I would probably thin this before wearing again so that I don't fudge up my nails like I did this time around (shhh... don't tell). You will also need a good layer of top coat as it dries a bit textured.

And, for your viewing pleasure, here is a macro which really captures the glass flecks and flakies. Yum!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - XOXO, Siren

Oh how I love a good shimmer. XOXO, Siren is amazing because its name is reminiscent of Gossip Girl (xoxo, gossip girl) and it's packed with shimmer!

XOXO, Siren is a steel blue-grey packed with blue to purple to pink shifting shimmers. I love the consistency of this polish too. It's very jellyish which makes it look really juicy and plump. I used two coats and top coat. I think you could wear three coats for even more opacity but I like how it looks with two coats. My first bottle of XOXO, Siren was DOA but Julie is amazing and replaced it right away. You can't beat Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer when it comes to quality and customer service.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Siren's Poolside Daiquiri

Well, this polish might be slightly seasonally inappropriate seeing as the season for poolside daiquiris is long gone BUT it's so so so gorgeous nonetheless. Siren's Poolside Daiquiri is a beautiful strawberry red jelly microglitter that is basically a one-coater. Seriously. I'm wearing one coat with top coat. This applied like a dream and I say that all the time about BEGL polishes but this one really applies like a dream.

I don't know what it is about pink polishes but they make me smile and this one is no exception. I really love how sparkly and juicy this polish is on the nail. It does dry textured so I suggest a thick layer of top coat or maybe two coats to be absolutely certain. Sadly this is now sold out but we all know this blog is about cataloguing my manicures so I have to share. LOVE THIS POLISH!

I also wish I was enjoying a poolside daiquiri (except I don't drink so a poolside shirley temple would suffice).
