Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish Frankly, My Dear

I have a backlog of polishes I received through the Polish Pickup to share with you all. Is anyone else in the same boat? Are you a Polish Pickup fan? I love the Polish Pickup because it introduces me to new brands like Poetry Cowgirl! This gorgeous polish I'm sharing today was part of the August Polish Pickup and the theme was Old Hollywood. How glam!

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish Frankly, My Dear can be described as a black jelly packed with red/orange/gold UCC flakies, iridescent chameleon glitters, silver holo micro glitters, and a red flash. It is inspired by the film Gone With the Wind and it beautifully captures a smoldering flame with the flakies and black jelly base.

I am wearing three thin coats plus top coat. I really liked how this applied because it was easy in spite of all the flakies and glitters. It dries relatively smoothly but top coat is a must to bring out the shine though I imagine a matte top coat would look awesome too. This is very vampy and sexy and perfect for Fall. This polish wore really well for the few days I had it on. I also didn't get tired or bored with it which is a good sign for me. I will absolutely wear this again and I know my mom was itching to wear it too :)

Girly Bits Wait For It Polish Pickup Nail Polish

Products sent for review by Girly Bits

Who's ready for a preview of one of the Polish Pickup polishes for November's theme of Fandoms? Do we have any How I Met Your Mother fans in the room? If so, this one's for you! I used to watch HIMYM (I think seasons 1 through 3) but I have commitment issues and it was going on for too long so I stopped watching. This is the story of my television watching life. Also, if you love blue then you are going to LOVE this nail polish.

Girly Bits Wait For It Polish Pickup Nail Polish

The theme for the November Polish Pickup is Fandoms and Pam created a polish inspired by How I Met Your Mother which, according to Pam, is one of the funniest shows she has ever watched. Below is the inspiration picture with some of the classic HIMYM running jokes.

How I met your mother wait for it

Girly Bits Wait For It is desrcibed as having a vibrant blue base, that shifts through violet, and magenta, to teal, and green at the edges. It is filled with holo flakes, and sparks of blue and green holographic microglitter. It will be available only through the Polish Pickup for $13 USD. This nail polish is 5 free, cruelty free, and vegan.

I am wearing two coats plus top coat. This applies like butter and the finish is incredibly smooth. This polish is so intensely blue and so incredibly bright. I didn't do justice in capturing all the complex shifts in this polish but they're there. Magic will happen on your nails.  The photos above and below show some of the shift and the final bottle shot shows it too. I love the holo flakes because they catch the light and really sparkle. This is also my favorite shade of blue - very bright and bold. I think it really fits with the HIMYM feel. Removal was easy as the flakes are very small as is the microglitter.

Girly Bits October 2017 CoTM Duo Slay, Ghoul, Slay and No Pumpkin Way Nail Polish

Provided for review

Who's ready for some Halloween-inspired nail polish? I AM SO READY! I am a Halloween freak and having nail polish to match the occasion is an absolute necessity. Last October, I forgot to order the CoTM polishes and only recently found them after months of ISOs and begging... so, my wise words to you are these: do not forget to order these two gorgeous Colours of the Month from Girly Bits! You will regret it. Learn from my mistake and never skip the CoTM! Hold onto your witch hats... these beauties will rock your world. Also, both of these polishes are 5-Free, cruelty free and vegan.

Girly Bits October 2017 CoTM Duo Colours of the Month

The October Colour of the Month will be available for purchase from October 13th at 12noon EDT until November 30th at 11:59pm EDT. They will be $16.50 CAD each. Early Bird Special: Pick up the duo from the Duo Early Bird Promo listing at a discounted price of $1.00 off each bottle from the 13th to the 22nd of October. After that, they will continue to be available for purchase individually at full price only.

Girly Bits No Pumpkin Way

Girly Bits No Pumpkin Way is a fiery burnt orange with a violet shimmer and brilliant gold holo microglitter. So, this is quintessentially Halloween orange in a nail polish. Like, actually the perfect Halloween orange that glows from within. The violet shimmer is very visible and I caught just a peek of it in the below picture. I am wearing two super easy coats plus top coat. This dries with the teeeniest bit of texture from the microglitter but it smooths easily with top coat and removal is pretty easy but just a tiny bit of scrubbing is required. I am loving orange more and more lately and not just for Halloween. This is classic and elegant as the orange is really deep. Seriously love No Pumpkin Way.

Are you ready for the second half of the Girly Bits October CoTM?...

Girly Bits Slay, Ghoul, Slay

Girly Bits Slay, Ghoul, Slay is a dusty lavender holo with orange sparks and a sprinkling of bronze-copper metallic flakes. It leans a bit purple/grey for me (at least the base does). So, this is INCREDIBLY dreamy. I am wearing 2 coats plus top coat. It built up really well and the formula is typical awesome Girly Bits formula. I used top coat but it's a very smooth finish. Easy removal, too! I absolutely LOVE this polish and the combination of bronze-copper flakies in this base is just amazing. It leans mostly lavender on me but looks a touch more grey in some other lighting. It has some shimmer methinks too.

Colors By Llarowe Did You Know You're My Hero

If you've been a longtime follower of this blog, you will remember that I used to post tons and tons of Colors by Llarowe manis (take a walk down memory lane here). It had been a while since I'd worn a CbL but I tried a few when I was at Indie Expo Canada and it rekindled the fire a little bit.

Colors By Llarowe Did You Know You're My Hero?

Colors by Llarowe Did You Know You’re My Hero is described as a light blue crelly, with irridescent pink and gold shimmer/microflakes. I am wearing two coats plus top coat. It dries to a semi-gloss finish so I highly recommend top coat to bring out the shimmer though using a matte top coat would be super cool too. I really like the shimmer in this one because its so prominent.

Colors By Llarowe Did You Know You're My Hero?

The combination of baby blue and the baby pink shimmer reminds me a baby shower in a very gendered way. This is a very sweet polish that applies easily and removes easily too. I find it interesting how the shimmer is so visible but also sort of flaked rather than a smooth shimmer throughout. It's a good thing! I just don't know if my description is making sense. While this was from a Spring/Summer collection, I also think it would work well in the Winter as the blue is somewhat icy with the shimmer.

You can purchase Colors by Llarowe from their online shop or at Harlow & Co. and Girly Bits Cosmetics.

Supermoon Lacquer A Boy's Best Friend Polish Pickup August 2017

I almost feel embarrassed to say it but I've never actually seen Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Now that it's October (a.k.a. scary movie month), maybe I should check it out. The nail polish I am sharing today is inspired by Psycho and named after the famous line in the film: "A boy's best friend is his mother." To be honest, my pictures are shit and hardly do this polish justice. It's a bit lighter in person but not as light as the last picture. The sparkle is just LETHAL, in the best possible way.

Supermoon Lacquer A Boy's Best Friend

Supermoon Lacquer A Boy's Best Friend is described as a dark gray/black base that leans brownish-purple in certain lighting/angles and is filled with red color shifting shimmer, rose pearl flakies, red holo and metallic microglitter, silver holo microglitter and silver holo flakies.

Supermoon Lacquer A Boy's Best Friend

Now, that description is a mouthful but this polish packs a serious punch and has me wanting all the Supermoon Lacquers. The formula. The complexity. The uniqueness. I love it all. I am wearing two coats plus top coat and the application was so easy peasy. The shimmer in this is one-of-a-kind and I can't wait to wear it again soon. Maybe I will make a date night with myself where I paint my nails with this polish again and watch Psycho. Also, sadly, this is no longer available. Saweeee.

Girly Bits Fall 2017 Cremes Collection (Part One)

Products sent for review by Girly Bits Cosmetics

Who's ready for some gorgeous fall cremes from the one and only Girly Bits Cosmetics?! Each one of these gorgeous polishes is shown in ONE COAT. I know I have short nails but even on longer nails these would be one-coaters because they are just that opaque. And I had no issues with staining to report so that should be a big cause for celebration. Fall colours are my absolute favorite and, along with the amazing names, these cremes are sure to make any creme lover smile.

Girly Bits Fall Cremes Collection 2017

Launching October 6, the first part of the Girly Bits Fall 2017 collection consists of 5 luscious cremes that are mostly opaque in one coat and stamp beautifully. They also watermarble, but due to heavy pigmentation the colours may bleed into one another. Each polish will retail for $15 CAD. You can purchase the entire collection of 5 cremes for a discounted price here from October 6-13.

Girly Bits Butternut Leave Me

First up is Girly Bits Butternut Leave Me, a mustard creme with orange undertones. One coat plus top coat. Delicious! Absolutely no issues with application - very fluid and smooth and no pooling whatsoever. This shade is also SUPER flattering on me. I imagine it will look awesome on lots of skin tones. I've never seen a polish like this so 100 points to Pam for innovation.

Girly Bits Butternut Leave Me

Girly Bits It’s Near Leaf All is a leaf green creme with yellow undertones. One coat plus top coat, absolutely no issues with application. LOOOOVE THIS ONE!

Girly Bits Sea You Next Fall is a teal leaning ocean blue creme. One coat plus top coat and a breeze to apply!

Girly Bits Stump up the Jam is a deep espresso brown creme. One coat plus top coat. OH  MY FREAKING GODDESS... I love this nail polish. I want to be buried in it. It's just so classy and sexy and vampy and shiny.

Girly Bits Stump Up the Jam

Girly Bits Walnuts About You is a mid tone mink brown creme. One coat plus top coat. This comes in close second as my favorite from Part One of the Fall 2017 Collection because it's just so elegant and literally the most perfect iteration of a mink creme ever. It almost applied itself, no joke. Girly Bits take the wheel.

Girly Bits The Hustle Nail Polish & Salem, MA Road Trip Photo Recap

I recently took a road trip to Salem, MA and HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE. I seriously fell in love with that city and left a little piece of my heart in Salem. I had the hardest time deciding what to wear on my nails for more than 3 days but Girly Bits The Hustle won out at the polish of choice. Let's just say The Hustle is the best vacation nail polish ever. Oh, and I wore Girly Bits Goblin It Up on my thumbs just for fun. If you scroll to the bottom of the post, I've shared some pictures from my trip!!

Girly Bits The Hustle Nail Polish

Girly Bits The Hustle is a lime green jelly holo with strong gold/green shimmer. Two coats and one coat of Girly Bits Glitter Glaze Quick Dry Top Coat.

Girly Bits The Hustle Nail Polish

The hype is real, friends. This polish is so sparkly, so neon, so shimmery and (most importantly) SO SMOOTH. Even though I'm a ride or die Girly Bits fan, I was skeptical about the claim that the polishes in the Sequins and Satin Pants collection were smooth to the touch but I was so wrong. How shameful that I doubted these polishes and their smoothness!

Girly Bits The Hustle Nail Polish

And, on my thumbs I wore Girly Bits Goblin It Up which was the CoTM from October 2016 and I finally got my hands on it after seriously regretting not ordering it back in October 2016 when it was for sale on the Girly Bits website.

My Indie Polish The Grinch Christmas Thermal Nail Polish

Provided for review by My Indie Polish

You might think it's too early to be thinking about Christmas but this thermal nail polish from My Indie Polish might have you thinking otherwise...

My Indie Polish The Grinch Christmas Thermal Nail Polish

Allow me to introduce My Indie Polish The Grinch, a scattered holo jelly thermal nail polish that transitions from a neon green in its warm state to bright berry red in its cold state. This was obviously inspired by The Grinch and who doesn't love that quintessential Christmas tale of a bitter and angry monster turning into a compassion and loving soul?

My Indie Polish The Grinch Christmas Thermal Nail Polish

The Grinch is super reactive and so fun to watch on your nails. I am wearing 3 thin coats plus top coat. The day I wore this it was BLISTERINGLY hot and so it was a bright neon green for most of the time but when I brought my nails near the air conditioner or held my glass of cold water... BAM! Red! And such a classic, Christmassy shade of red it is. I love that the green is neon because it really evokes The Grinch. And when you're outside in the snow on Christmas morning, your nails will be bright red and when you come in by the fire they're be green. It's a win-win. Oh, and the holo twinkles so beautifully. I really love this nail polish... can you tell it's getting me jazzed for Christmas?

My Indie Polish The Grinch Christmas Thermal Nail Polish

My Indie Polish The Grinch Christmas Thermal Nail Polish

I highly recommend you get your hands on My Indie Polish The Grinch. It will be available on October 15 on the My Indie Polish website. Maybe you should pick one up for a friend and share the spirit of the season! It might even make your heart grow three sizes that day.
