Urban Decay Glinda Palette

Urban Decay's Limited Edition Glinda Palette is absolutely worthy of a fairy!!

The exterior of the palette itself is beautiful to look at and oh so magical.

There are six shadows except the middle two are split in two, offering two shades in one.

Aura, the middle colour in the top row, is our favourite. You can't go wrong with an iridescent duochrome!
It's like the eye shadow version of this nail polish.

South, the bottom right shadow, is a wonderful metallic taupe.

But every shadow is stunning and offers a soft texture, with the exception of Oz (the bottom, middle shade). It has bits of glitter so you'll get a bit of fall-out there.

The value of this palette is amazing. Not only do you get six shades (or eight) you get a mini 24/7 Glide -On Eye Pencil in Rockstar, probably my favourite of the pencils, and a Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour.

Rockstar is a deep purple shade while Glinda the Lip Colour is a pinky nude, sort of a my-lips-but-better shade (at least on me). The lip pencil does provide a nice glossy sheen, though.

I've always wanted one of those books filled with face charts and makeup looks so having the little card with Glinda's look is a step in that direction.

I've got the makeup, all I have to do now is see the movie!! haha

China Glaze Rainbow

Rainbow by China Glaze is such a magical colour. It looks white in the bottle but I think you can glimpse a bit of the opalescence.

Rainbow is a sheer polish with a light pink and sometimes purple sheen. Not exactly a rainbow but pretty none the less.

Two coats of polish have been applied. You can still detect the whites of my nails but nothing a third coat couldn't fix, if you prefer full opacity.

It's a polish that makes me feel fancy when I wear it. Like I'm ready for tea parties and pearls....or opals ;)

Modern Sixties Eye Makeup

This is my take on the iconic 60's makeup. I love this style of makeup - it's very fun and easy to do!

Typically matte shadows are used but this makeup was for a party so sparkle and shine is always necessary. Plus, that's part of my adaptation.

There are only five products used in total (six if you count primer).

If you have the Naked palette from Urban Decay you're good to go but if you don't you can easily substitute any shimmery white and matte or sparkly black.

First apply your primer then place a shimmery white all over the lid. Next, I like to apply a cream pencil that doesn't set to the crease (I don't suggest using Urban Decay's 24/7 Eye Pencil here unless you work really fast) to map out the shape as well as intensify the black. Then I smoke it out with a black shadow, in this case UD's Creep. Apply gel eyeliner and extend it out more or less straight from the lash line, so no cat-eye flick here. Coat lashes with mascara and you're done!

I will note that although I used a L'Oreal gel eyeliner I don't suggest it. If it works for you that's great but I get so frustrated using it. I find it pulls on the eye when applied, making it difficult to achieve a nice smooth line. The worse part is how difficult it is to remove!I get black stuck all around my eyes and I look like a raccoon. haha

Burgundy Eyes

This is a very simple look - only two eye shadows! I get a grungy vibe from it. It doesn't really have that effect in this picture but in person that's what came to mind.

I really wanted to use the eye shadow below from the Sleek Acid Palette...

...it's my absolute favourite shadow from the palette. It's a beautiful deep magenta with a pink sheen.

I applied that to the lid first, after priming, however pink eyes do make me look a little ill so I went in with Hustle from Urban Decay's Naked Palette. I applied Hustle to the outer corner as well as along the outer two-thirds of the bottom lash line. I find Hustle has a purple tone that goes well with the magenta.

Golden Sunrise Eye Makeup

Here's a nice summery look that utilizes the hot pink in the Sleek Acid Palette to add a touch of colour.

Once again it's a pretty simple look.

Looking at this really makes me yearn for summer, hardcore!

Amber Lights by MAC is the base colour with some of Urban Decay's Darkhorse from the Naked Palette in the crease. Sleek's hot pink is in the inner corner and blended up into the crease and Amber Lights. Next up, I put some Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion tight to the lash line. Coat lashes with mascara and you're done!

You can always add a heavier liner if the pink washes you out or makes you look ill.

If I were to recreate this look I would darken the outer corner a bit more with Darkhorse, however I did want this look to be summery and light so...maybe not?

Fun fact: Amber Lights was the first eye shadow I ever bought! hehe :)

Enchanted Polish Serendipity

Enchanted Polish Serendipity

Serendipity by Enchanted Polish is absolutely perfect for Spring!

It's like a seasonal update on the mannequin nail, I think.

Enchanted Polish Serendipity

It's a pale yellow duochrome with pink shimmer and holographic sparkle! A very unique shade indeed!

It's also a very elusive one; unfortunately it is currently sold out :( but keep your peepers out for it because it is quite brilliant ;)

Enchanted Polish Serendipity

This is a scattered holographic so you get the true holo effect when the light catches your nails. It's like a little burst of magic when that happens.

This is just one coat of polish and top coat. As you can see it's completely opaque! It's great when a formula works like that, it's much more economical :)

Enchanted Polish Serendipity

I also just love the Enchanted Polish logo. It reminds me of the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom :D

Urban Decay Peace

Urban Decay's Deluxe Eye Shadow in Peace is a beautiful... I'm going to say deep aquamarine blue.

Best part? It's on sale!! 6 bucks down from $18!
There are five other colours left and they're all absolutely gorgeous!

Although sales are good that's not the best part. hehe

It actually feels deluxe! They aren't just tacking that word on, they mean it.

It's buttery and smooth and a delight to apply.

Plus, it comes with a pretty substantial mirror for a single eye shadow.

I'm so pleased with this shadow, can you tell?

Oooh it's like a wonderful sea of eye shadow.

Peace is a shimmery eye shadow but no glitter. That's how I prefer my eye shadows, honestly. I'm not big on glitter, I just love a nice sheen. And that's what this eye shadow supplies.

Go get ya some! ;)

Butter London Molly Coddled

Molly Coddled from Butter London's Sweet Shop Spring 2013 Collection is a beautiful pastel purple. It isn't just a regular pastel purple though. It has pink-y undertones that give it its unique look.

I spoke about triangle accents in this post but I definitely got them right this time. I love having holographic accents! Holographic nail polish is sooo fun and it adds a little pizzazz to any manicure. The one I'm using here is from Color Club in Nude.

I used two pieces of tape to form the triangle but it integral that you press the tape to your skin about six times to make the tape less sticky, otherwise you're likely to pull of the base colour when removing it. Also, it's best if you pull the pieces of tape off right after applying the nail polish. You can watch this video to get a better idea.
