Candy Lacquer Diamonds in the Sky

Today's manicure is a pink holographic glitter bomb! My personal favorite type of look to wear on my nails. I'm pink-obsessed, in other words. I first discovered Candy Lacquer through Peachy Polish who is one of my favorite nail bloggers at the moment. Candy Lacquer makes wonderfully glittery and fun polishes with something for everyone. Diamonds in the Sky is one of her newer polishes so I grabbed it up in her latest restock in mid-April. I'm so glad I did! It includes a lovely mix of pink, white and silver glitters - ranging from stars to bars to diamonds. Since I wanted to go with the glitter-overload look I decided to layer it over a pink holographic glitter polish. Pink pink pink! There is so much pink and I love it so much!

Nail Pattern Boldness Inner Beauty is for Amateurs

The best way to describe Inner Beauty is for Amateurs by Nail Pattern Boldness is to liken it to Dorothy's ruby slippers. I think this nail polish is a little bit of an amped up version, though.

It is a jelly red with holographic shimmer running throughout it PLUS blue shimmery flakes. Sounds like magic, right?

There is something so beautiful about a bright red polish however the complexity of Inner Beauty is for Amateurs puts it over the top.

Application with this one is a little tricky. It's on the thicker side so it kind of tugs when being applied. You'll definitely need a top coat to bring out the shimmer and in order to smooth the feel.

I used the Gelous Nail Top Coat plus Sech Vite since the former top coat takes longer to dry.

Earth Therapeutics Nail and Cuticle Care Nutrient Conditioner

I thought I would share with you one of my favorite nail care products. I only recently started paying more attention to my nails and their overall health, mostly due to this blog (no one wants to see wonky cuticles, dry hands and/or hangnails). I picked Earth Therapeutics Nail and Cuticle Care Nutrient Conditioner up at TJ Maxx for $3.99 - I bought it on a total whim and it turned out to be a great purchase. It really makes a visible difference in the health of my nail bed and cuticles. It smells lovely because of the tea tree oil, too. Truth be told, I don't use it daily as I should but whenever I do put it on my nails looks better within a few hours and for the next few days. I try to apply it after removing my nail polish with acetone and it really does moisturize my nails.

I definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a new nail conditioner/moisturizer. I have seen Earth Therapeutics at Ulta and this product is also sold online at (though it's definitely cheapest at TJ Maxx if you can get your claws on it).

Britney SpearMint Chocolate Chip (Echanted Polish & Lumina Lacquer)

I'm going to go ahead and say it... this is one of the most clever manis I have ever thought of or ever seen. You saw it here first: Britney SpearMint Chocolate Chip. Brilliance! I have combined the elegance of Enchanted Polish Britney Spearmint with the yumminess of Lumina Lacquer Mint Chocolate Chip. I don't think I need to say much more as Enchanted Polish and Lumina Lacquer are both in my top 3 favorite polish brands of all time.

What do you think? Are you going to go get some ice cream now?

All pictures show 2 coats of Enchanted Polish Britney Spearmint with 1 coat of Lumina Lacquer Mint Chocolate Chip dabbed over top, 1 coat of Gelous and 1 coat of Seche Vite to finish.

Barbie Eyes

I woke up one morning with an urge to use pink and purple eye shadow. I had never tried using the two together so I just went for it and had a really fun time creating this look.

The addition of purple (Urban Decay's Flash) in this look helps to make the pink more wearable plus pink and purple together makes for a dynamo combo in my books.

Enchanted Polish Britney Spearmint

First of all, let's take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness of this polish both in terms of it's name (BRITNEY SPEARMINT!!!!) and it's holographic minty-green goodness. Pure brilliance. What can I say about this polish, really? It's what you would expect from Enchanted Polish - scattered yet linear holographic multi-chrome polish perfection. The one quip I have with this polish (which might be exclusive to me and the way I applied the polish) is that there were some bubble/chunk things on my nail after the first and second coats (you can see in the up-close of my nail below). This never really happens to me so I don't know if it was the polish or what. I love love love it nonetheless and top coat smoothed it all out anyway. This polish wears extremely well - hardly any tip wear after 5 days! A miracle! At first I thought this polish was a little too muted for me but I really love it - it's almost opalescent (and opals are my favorite stone/jewel ever)! If you want this, it will take work or good connections as Enchanted Polish is notoriously difficult to get ahold of. I scored my bottle from Harlow & Co. back in April. Hopefully it will be available again soon.

Enchanted Polish Awesomeness

Awesomeness by Enchanted Polish makes me giddy just looking at the bottle.

This polish is basically the definition of awesomeness, well I am partial to the colour purple so maybe that's just me, but holographic shimmer pretty much makes everything awesome.

So far my experience with Enchanted Polish has been really good! The formula is quite fluid and you can pretty much get away with one coat, it's that pigmented.

Candy Lacquer Balloons in the Air

Confession time: I'm a little bit obsessed with circular holographic glitter. When I saw Candy Lacquer Balloons in the Air I fell in love instantly. It's such a light and airy glitter polish... it's perfectly named. I thought it would pair beautifully with butter LONDON Fiver (click to see my swatches) and it certainly did. This combination screams blue skies and fresh air. The polish was loaded with glitter and worked well dabbed-on. It also matched my dress I was wearing - I love when that happens!

Fruit Punch

Here is a super fun eye look inspired by iheartmakeup92 (it's the second look created in the video).

I've made more of a pastel version here, however.

You might think that this look would be too intense for you but I encourage you to give it a try if you're interested. It brightens up your face without being too garish.

In a world (seemingly) full of neutral shadows and smoky eyes it's nice to switch it up and subvert the system ;)

I used the Sleek MakeUP Acid Palette entirely to create this look plus the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as a base. As long as you don't put too much on, the NYX pencil is a great base and really allows the colour to pop. I almost typed poop and that would have been funny :P

Butter London Fiver

Who doesn't love a beautiful mint-green creme polish? It's the perfect spring companion for your nails. I personally think it also works well for wintertime! This is butter LONDON Fiver from their Spring 2013 Sweetie Shop Collection. I was lucky enough to win this polish from a giveaway hosted by Jenesequa (check out their magazine!) a few months ago. Talk about a sweet surprise! I instantly fell in love with this colour when I saw the bottle. While the formula isn't perfect (it's very rare that a creme polish is perfect), it applied quite well in my opinion. It really was not that streaky with a careful application. The finish is also quite shiny (I didn't even use top coat for these pictures!!). This might be my favorite variation on a mint-green polish I have ever tried. I love it!

All pictures show 2 coats of butter LONDON Fiver without topcoat.
