Neutral Eyes and Turquoise Hair

Sometimes I forget that makeup looks using neutral tones can be just as fun to create as colourful ones. That's what I love about makeup! It's the process (choosing the colours, mixing, blending) that's really the fun part. And it doesn't hurt if it looks really nice in the end, either ;)

Matte shades on the lid and then I used a shimmery gold along the bottom lash line.

Products Used
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Sleek MakeUP Mattes Dark - Maple, Flesh, Paper Bag, Dune, Noir
Urban Decay - Honey
MAC False Lashes Extreme Black

Here's where I added some colour. Hehe I couldn't totally go without! At the beginning of the Summer I bleached a few strips of hair and have been changing up the colours each time one colour washes out. Other than one strip on the side of my face, most of the pieces are hidden within my hair. It makes for a little surprise when the wind blows or you've got some grungy business going on with your hair.

The dye I used here is Beyond the Zone Color Jamz Tripped Up Turquoise. This is the result after one wash. If you want really vibrant colour I don't suggest this line of hair dye. I left the colour in my hair for approximately 6 hours and the result is far from intense. It all depends on what you're looking for but for intense colour I find that Jerome Russell's Punky Colors are really fabulous. The colour is strong and last for a fairly long time. Having said that, I've only ever tried Rose Red so I don't have any personal experience with the turquoise but I'm sure it's equally as awesome.

Ozotic 607 Nail Polish

I really love this polish!! It reminds me of candy floss and dew drops and fairy wings. Ozotic 607 is a very pale pink shade with lots of holographic glitter that is more on the flaky side. I think this would be a beautiful polish for either Summer or Winter. Nice and light for Summer. Cool and icy for Winter, haha.

This is our first Ozotic and so far I'm really impressed. It applied evenly without fuss and has a super smooth feel when dry. Because the glitter appears to be more like little flakes of holographic goodness, as aforementioned, I thought this polish would have a rough texture but it was surprisingly (and pleasantly) smooth. It also dries to a nice glossy finish. No top coat in any of these pictures.

All of these photos were taken in natural sunlight (as sunlight tends to be, LOL).

Lime in your Eye Makeup

I've been dipping into the Sleek MakeUP Acid Palette a lot more recently to create my eye looks. I had never used the neon green from the palette as the main focus before so I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out I really liked the result! It's really fun and perfect for Summer!

I used the white from the palette for the inner corner, the yellow as the transition shade, and a mixture of the green and Urban Decay's Graffiti on the outer corner.

Technicoloured Eyes Makeup

This is sort of an updated version of this look I did in June. And maybe a little bit of a more wearable look for some. It's still bright and it's still using the Sleek MakeUP Acid Palette for the most part but there is some variation between the two.

What makes this a more wearable look is that the addition of dark purple provides some contrast to the bright colours and balances the overall look. So there is a dark shade framing the rainbow brights on the lid. You could go as dark as you'd like with the purple, too. Also, if you have a shimmery purple it can add some extra interest where the colours on the lid are all matte.

Products Used
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Sleek MakeUP Acid Palette - white, yellow, orange, pink
Urban Decay Glinda Palette - Tornado
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Rockstar

Scofflaw Flotsam & Jetsam

I'm really loving pastel turquoise creme polishes right now. This Scofflaw polish is no exception! I especially love the purple and turquoise flakies within it. There's also some traditional turquoise glitter in there, too. The polish applies really well. It evens out beautifully but I really didn't have any problems with streaking. What's really great news is that you don't have to do a lot of fishing around to get the glitters/flakes out! I also really love the combination of purple and turquoise! It reminds me mermaids which is always a good thing.

I've decided to square my nails. They still look a little rounded here but these photos show only the beginning of my entry into the world of square nails. For some reason I felt like I had to have rounded nails. No idea where that came from!! Haha. But square nails look much nicer on me personally and I think they give me a little more surface area to work with.

I was reluctant to take this polish off. I was completely content to keep wearing it. It's such a pretty shade and the flakes and bits of glitter keep it interesting.

We have a few more Scofflaw polishes that I'm excited to wear and share. Stay tuned!

ORLY Androgynie

Sometimes there is nothing more chic and classic than an all-black manicure. I think everyone has their classic color that they always go back to.  For me, it's black nail polish. However, I can't leave good enough alone so I always look for black polishes with that little something extra to them. Take ORLY Androgynie. It's a black polish with color-shifting hex and micro glitters. I absolutely LOVE it! Lots of nail bloggers have criticized this polish for not looking as good as it does in the bottle but I personally love it! I also love the texture that the polish has sans top coat, as I have shown in the pictures below. I could wear this polish for days and not tire of it - it's edgy, unique, and the name is all kinds of awesome! Wear it with some black and white stripes, a studded denim vest and you'll feel as though you can take on the world!

Skull hair bow purchased from ArteDeMiFamilia (though it was 2+ years ago!).

All pictures show 2 coats of ORLY Androgynie without top coat.

Rock On!

Lumina Lacquer Crushing Candy

Crushing Candy by Lumina Lacquer is a super fun matte glitter topper. When you aren't feeling anything too flashy this topper is a great alternative. It's colour without the sparkle.

I just love the way it looks over a black polish, the colours really POP!

I couldn't resist sharing the spotlight with our favourite gal - Betsey Johnson Rio Skeleton necklace. We love skeletons over here and the the bright colours of this necklace work so well with these bright nails.

And of course I couldn't resist spreading a little candy around ;)

Enchanted Polish Across the Universe

By now, we all know very well that Enchanted Polish is a force to be reckoned with in the nail polish world. Chelsea of Enchanted Polish makes the most incredible nail polishes I have ever tried. I am a huge fan! She is known best for her holographic/multichrome polishes. Enchated Polish Across the Universe is one of those holographic color-shifting wonders that has become so well-loved and coveted by many. On it's own, Across the Universe flashes blue, purple, magenta with holographic goodness. I decided to layer it over China Glaze Bahamian Breeze to enhance the blue tone in the polish. You really could layer this over anything or wear it on it's own as it's opaque in two coats. I must apologize for how this polish looks in the pictures: it's a little chunky-bumpy looking but that's because of my base of Bahamian Breeze not Across the Universe. I love this polish and tried to capture how beautiful and multifaceted it truly is but alas these photos do it no justice! The Enchanted Polish Imagine Collection is out of stock almost everywhere but Harlow and Co. might be your best bet as they recently restocked it.

All pictures show 2 coats of Enchanted Polish Across the Universe over 1 coat China Glaze Bahamian Breeze, finished off with top coat.

Color Club Miss Bliss + Vinylmation Bakery!

It's no secret that I love pink. It's also no secret that I love holographic polishes. Meet Color Club Miss Bliss: a vibrantly holographic pink polish! There isn't much more to say about this polish except that it applies easily, dries quite quickly and lasts about 4 days without chipping (and that's without a top coat!). I love this polish and it's definitely a new go-to in my collection.

I also thought I would share my love for Disney Vinylmation figurines in this post. The one featured in the pictures was part of the Bakery Collection. We picked the Marie cupcake up at the Orlando International Airport after missing it at the parks. We love us some Disney... and pink polish!

All pictures show 2 coats of Color Club Miss Bliss, no top coat.
