Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is Neons Collection + Lynnderella As Above, So Holo Skittle

Neons, Neons, Beautiful Neons! Earlier this summer Girly Bits released a collection of neons named after Pam's hooping hobby. Overall, I love this collection of neons. The formula is really good to work with for neons which are notoriously difficult. For my mani, I used OPI Glitter Peel Off as my base coat and topped everything off with glitter (duh!) and Girly Bits Glitter Glaze. The above pictures show all the neons without top coat (still pretty good, huh?).

The first picture shows (from index to pinky): Hooperchondriac, These Hips Don't Lie, Thump Your Melons, Hoop! There It Is. The second picture (index to pinky): Get Indie Flow, Don't Paddle Break A Nail, Hip Hoop Hooray, You're My Hooper Hero. Unpictured are It's Hoop to Be Square and I've Got High Hoops which were on my thumbs. All are shown at two coats because OPI Glitter Peel Off happened to work really well as a base for the neons.

The glitter I chose was As Above, So Holo from Lynnderella which is yet another Special Edition (no longer available). I thought the silver glitter would work really well with the neons and I wasn't wrong! This mani made me super happy because 1) who doesn't love a neon rainbow skittle and 2) who doesn't love Lynnderella's nano stars (of which AASH has plenty). I really did not want to take this mani off but when the time came, I just used an wooden nail stick to pop the nail polish off.

Lynnderella Thrill Ride

Okay, now this is what I call the perfect blurple. This is Lynnderella Thrill Ride: one coat over one coat OPI Yoga-Ta Get This Blue. Let me just say that these polishes apply like butter. I recently rediscovered OPI Glitter Peel Off Base Coat and it's been my new go-to for glitter manicures. I'm lucky in that I can get about 3-4 days of wear before a nail pops off.

Lynnderella Thrill Ride is a complex blurple multiglitter that can most definitely be worn on it's own in about 2-3 coats. It builds up so nicely and works amazingly well over a base colour as well. It's almost blinding in the sunlight which is how I like my manis. In order to get this glassy smooth finish, I used one coat of Essence Gel Look top coat and topped that off with one coat of Girly Bits Glitter Glaze. Perfection!

Since I have to disappoint you by telling you this Lynnderella is Special Edition and no longer available, here is a pretty glitter macro. Other Lynnderellas which are equally as beautiful are available on eBay.

Girly Bits These Hips Don't Lie + Lynnderella HoloDay Heart

This summer, like everyone else it seems, I'm all about the NEONS! Especially yellow, highlighter bright neons. Girly Bits These Hips Don't Lie is a absolute must for those who love yellow neons. I will admit that the formula isn't perfect but it's pretty good considering.

I used 3 coats over a ridge filling base coat and it still wasn't completely perfect but I couldn't stand the thought of 4 coats. I finished off with an accent nail of Lynnderella HoloDay Heart which was a special gift from Paul and Lynnderella back in 2013. I sealed in my mani with Girly Bits What a Rush topcoat which I have been loving lately.

I got great longevity out of this manicure which pleased me. Minimal tip wear makes me happy.

The Girly Bits neon collection is available online. Unfortunately, HoloDay Heart was a gift and is therefore unavailable except through swaps with other Glitter Fairies. Other Lynnderella polishes are available on eBay (Shape Shifter is probably the closest Lynn to this).

OPI Live. Love. Carnival + Lynnderella Love Light + ORLY Shine On Crazy Diamond

Coral. What is coral, exactly? OPI Live. Love. Carnival is classified as a coral but everyone I quizzed thought it was pink. It's definitely a pink coral and it's definitely gorgeous. This OPI is a flawless two-coater. It applies as smooth as butter and dries quickly. It's polishes like these that remind me why OPI is seriously the best at cremes.

Now, because I can't leave good enough alone I added a thin coat of Lynnderella Love Light which is an iridescent/opalescent topper that has a beautiful purpley flash. You can see it best in the first swatch. Finally, I topped Love Light with ORLY Shine On Crazy Diamond which is a sparse holo top coat. The ORLY dries so smoothly that it almost works as a top coat but I topped everything off with Girly Bits What A Rush for good measure and extra longevity.

I wore this mani for about 4 days though a lot of wear and tear and it held up beautifully. Whenever I looked at my nails I felt happy. I'd say that's a pretty good test of a mani :)

Sigma Small Tapered Blending Brush (E45) Review - Obsessed Canada

The Sigma Small Tapered Blending Brush (E45) is a great tool for precise eye shadow application. It's tightly packed bristles allow you to deposit colour exactly where you want it; however, the bristles aren't stiff, so you can still blend shadows. It will not diffuse eye shadow colour as with a fluffier blending brush. Therefore, this brush is excellent for a cut-crease look.

Here is a shot of the brush in action. It is comfortable in the hand as the brush is the perfect length and thickness. I did a very neutral cut-crease and the Sigma E45 was the perfect tool for this look. Luckily for us Canadians, Sigma brush are easily and readily available from We love the wide selection and fash shipping!

I love the holographic lettering on Sigma brushes. Just brilliant! High quality brushes with style.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Sirène Fatale

If there was ever a nail polish that captured the true essence of summer, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's Sirène Fatale would be it. What it is, is a gorgeous hot pink (it leans a little coral on me) with a strong blue flash and blue shimmer. This Siren dries down to a bit of a satin/matte finish so definitely use a nice top coat to bring out that shimmah!

The formula on this Siren is absolutely fantastic. I used two easy coats and, as always with BEGL polish, I went about 4 days without any tip wear and absolutely no chipping. I know neons can be problematic for chipping but this polish is one of a kind in terms of formula. I really hope Julie makes an entire collection of shimmer neons like this. If she does, I might stop collecting nail polish because shimmery neons are all I want in life.

Below, I experimented with a little glitter over top on my thumb (I've been rocking the accent thumb a lot lately): Takko XOXO and Lynnderella Opal Intuition. I absolutely love how well gold and pink go together. These glitters are basically perfect and I would have been happy to top all my nails with them but I couldn't stand the thought of covering up my beloved Sirène Fatale.

Sadly, Sirène Fatale is limited edition and is no longer for sale. You can check out other Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers here. Sign up for the newsletter so you're in the loop about other limited edition Siren releases in the future.
