Lynnderella Birthday Fairy - It's Caitlin's Birthday!

Ohmygawd. I love HOT PINK! Lynnderella Birthday Fairy is everything. Birthday Fairy is a semi-transparent bright coral creme with holographic micro flecks, silver holographic nano stars as well as iridescent confetti and pink shimmer. I feel as if this polish was made for me.

I have layered 2 coats over 2 coats of China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts. I don't want to be held to this statement but if I could only wear one polish for the rest of my life, Birthday Fairy might be it. Just sayin'. Now, go and have a slice of cake and pretend like it's your birthday.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Lynnderella polishes can be purchased on eBay or Storenvy.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Sick Inside Wondering

Green polish can be tricky. I don't really wear it often because it can be a little harsh or tacky. However, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Sick Inside Wondering is none of those things. This green has the most amazing blue shimmer and I received many compliments. The picture above shows it without top coat which, IMHO, looks just as great as the shiny, top-coated final version below. I wore 2 easy coats plus top coat. I wore it for 4 days with NO TIP WEAR and NO CHIPPING.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Studio Ghibli Collection {My Picks}

Today we have my (Caitlin's) picks from the Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Studio Ghibli Collection. Of the 4 polishes in this collection, I picked the 3 I knew I'd wear again and again. And here they are for your viewing pleasure...

First up is We Fly With Our Spirit which is an awesome deep indigo jelly polish with orange and red glass flecks throughout. Oh mamma, I love this. It's so vampy and rich. I used 3 thin coats. It built up well and I finished with top coat to ensure maximum jelly glossiness.

Secondly, The Best Blaze is a bright light blue jelly with a blue shimmer and silver holographic dust. I really love this one the most. It's so sweet and sparkly. I used 2 coats but I probably should have used 3 for the pictures as I can see some bald spots. They aren't noticeable IRL though. I finished off with top coat to make it glossy.

Lastly, I Have Known You Since You Were Very Small. This polish is a teal jelly with rainbow iridescent and aqua micro-glitter plus silver holographic dust. I used 3 thin coats and it built up very nicely. I finished with Girly Bits Glitter Glaze. This wore like IRON for 4 days!

Haunted Mansion Destination Duo - Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer & The Polish Bar

Fun Fact about the Streets Ahead Style team... The Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World is one of our most favorite places on Earth. Yes. It's true. We have been obsessed since we were very young which might seem morbid but it was always my favorite (and one of our last) stops in the park whenever we would visit as kids... and even now, as adults.

The Destination Duo Collaboration between Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer and The Polish Bar is inspired by The Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Wall to Wall Creeps is a deep purple jelly with copper and pink glass flecks, rose gold flakies, and neon pink to blue shifting flakies.
I am wearing three coats with top coat in the pictures. It's best to apply with thin coats as the polish wanted to pool on me a little. Luckily, the coats dry quickly.

The Polish Bar Happy Haunting is a clear base polish with gold, bronze silver color-shifting flakies, and pewter holographic glitter in various sizes.
We layered 1 coat of Happy Haunting over Wall to Wall Creeps. This polish is absolutely stunning! I love how they polishes work together. So rich and perfect for fall.

You can purchase other Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer here. Follow Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer on Instagram and like them on Facebook. The Destination Duo is sold out on BEGL's website but still available from The Polish Bar. YAY!

KBShimmer Alloy Matey + Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Together Dead and Lonely

Don't you love sunny Novembers? I really appreciate seeing the sun shining as the temperature drops and the leaves fall. I also appreciate the sun because it means my holographic, glittery nails can BLIND ME still.

Yay for that.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Together Dead and Lonely is a black jelly with red and silver microglitter. I honestly love it so much. I used 2 coats plus 2 coats of top coat because it dries a little gritty and I wanted it super glossaaay! The silver is Alloy Matey! from KBShimmer: a silver microglitter in a clear base. I am wearing 2 coats over 1 coat of an unknown silver polish. I also finished off with 2 layers of top coat to ensure maximum glossiness.

You can purchase other Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer here. Follow Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer on Instagram and like them on Facebook.
KBShimmer is available from Harlow & Co with worldwide shipping!

Lynnderella Scary Pretty

Just popping in with a quick manicure from the other day. This is Lynnderella Scary Pretty! over NYC Wine Bar from Walmart. Wine Bar is a gorgeous magenta jelly that looks so awesome under glitter or on its own. I chose to add Scary Pretty! because I love skull glitter and stars - this polish is loaded with both. Scary Pretty! is also PACKED with glitter... this is one carefully applied coat finished off with Gelous and a QDTC.

Run! This is still available for auction and sale. Lynnderella polishes can be purchased on eBay or Storenvy.

Lynnderella That Kind of September + Enchanted Polish Seven Nation Army

Well, it's definitely not September anymore and Halloween is also over... but better late than never right? This was my second Halloween mani this year and I honestly didn't want to take it off. Lynnderella That Kind of September is a sunny, citrus-y orange with golden shimmer. This polish was a dream to apply in two coats. The first picture is WITHOUT top coat! Look at that shine!

Below, I finished off my mani with Enchanted Polish Seven Nation Army which is a black and white glitter topper with holographic sparkle. It transforms every and any manicure into this amazing piece of art. I am so lucky to own it. I finished everything off with top coat.

Lynnderella polishes can be purchased on eBay or Storenvy. Enchanted Polish is available from various retailers but is currently sold out and I'm not sure that Seven Nation Army will become available again.

Girly Bits Abracapocus (Re-launched as Pocuscadabra)

Girly Bits Abracapocus Pocuscadabra

Girly Bits has got GAME. Pam, the creative genius behind Girly Bits, knows how to make a mean polish. I'm constantly amazed by how unique and beautiful each one of her new polishes is. I think she's really been on a roll lately especially with her contributions to various subscription boxes.

Abracapocus by Girly Bits is a greyish/greenish holo base with green shimmer and orange, green, purple, and black glitter. This polish was featured in the October Beauty Box Quartet. I was lucky enough to score this second-hand and I am so glad I did! Abracapocus was one of my Halloween manis this year but I am sure I will be wearing it again because it also has an evergreen tree vibe which makes it perfect for winter.

Maple Holistics Review - Silk18 Conditioner & Sage Shampoo

We interrupt our regularly scheduled nail posts for something a little different... hair care! Riley and I both rock a variation on the pixie cut. Having clean, shiny and soft hair is really important to us so we are always on the hunt for a good shampoo and conditioner. Short haired girls need conditioner too!

Maple Holistics reached out to us a while ago to review our choice of products from their line of natural beauty products. We chose Sage Shampoo and Silk18 Conditioner. In an effort to provide the most accurate and honest review, I've been testing these two products within my normal hair care regimen for the past 2 months.

Sage Shampoo is an anti-dandruff shampoo made with jojoba, argan, and organic tea tree oil. It's natural, sulfate-free and safe for colour-treated hair (though we can't vouch for this because neither of us colour our hair). It also contains sage (obviously), spikenard and rosemary so it smells awesome.

Silk18 Conditioner is also sulfate-free. It's designed as a treatment for dry and damaged hair, made with argan, jojoba and natural keratin; it is also safe for colour-treated hair (again, no comment on this aspect of the product). Silk18 is a gentle conditioner made with eighteen different amino acids and botanical keratin. This also smells amazing (very much like vanilla).

So, what's the verdict? TWO THUMBS UP!
We love how soft and shiny both of these products leave our hair. I can honestly say that my hair stays cleaner longer after washing with both Sage and Silk18. I am totally a fan of these two hair care products and I would definitely recommend checking out Maple Holistics if you are looking for a safe, natural hair care product to use on a regular basis.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Fare the Wind

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's official: I'm back on the holo train. I had strayed for some time but maybe I'm getting older or maybe I'm just in a mood but I'm wearing holographic nail polish again! Yay!

Here we have an example of holo par excellence. Not only is it a linear holo, it's also got shimmer and micro-flakes. Basically, there's never a dull lighting for this baby. It looks awesome in any setting/lighting/whatever/wherever.

Fare the Wind is described by Julie as a "darker blue-leaning purple linear holographic with a blue to purple shift and red micro-flakies with a slight metallic finish." This wore like IRON! Two coats, top coat and base coat... 5 days no chipping and only minimal tip wear. Perfection as always from BEGL!

Sadly, Fare the Wind is now sold out but you can purchase other Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer here. Follow Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer on Instagram and like them on Facebook.
