Fiendish Fancies x Canuck Box Exclusive - Powerful, Beautiful & Without Regret

The Canuck Box is a box of specially curated Canadian indie products. It includes nail polish, nail care and nail art items and comes out once every few months. Canuck Box #3 contains this beautiful nail polish from Fiendish Fancies called Powerful, Beautiful & Without Regret, inspired by Interview With A Vampire.

This is a shimmery stunner with many faces. It's got some scattered holo and it's definitely a multi-chrome that shifts from turquoise to dark brown depending on the angle. I could also describe it as a blackened forest green but it's so hard to describe this complex beauty! I tried my best to capture some of its many faces here in this post.

Powerful, Beautiful & Without Regret is ONLY available in the Canuck Box #3. So, don't hesitate! Order now!

The Canuck Box is available for purchase online to Canadian and US residents! At $40 CAD, it's basically free for those of you in the US! The box is currently available for pre-order and will ship on February 23, 2016.

You can follow Fiendish Fancies on Facebook and Instagram for updates and more swatches from other bloggers.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - The Years Have Been Short

This Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer came out about a year ago and while I purchased some of the other polishes from the Spark in the Dark Collection (here and here), I waffled on this one for a while. And now I feel like a jerk because I absolutely ADORE this polish!

This polish is described as a "jelly base tinted slightly white with white microglitter, silver reflective beads, blue/purple iridescent microglitters, strong blue shimmer, and a smattering of various shades of blue microglitters." I love how it looks like fallen snow on my nails. I chose to layer one coat of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer The Years Have Been Short over OPI Funny Bunny as it's rather sheer on it's own and I didn't want TOO much glitter. I also have to boast about the wear time on this: an entire work week of typing and commuting and wearing gloves and stuff. Amazing!
I would recommend a thick top coat or two layers of top coat as it's surprisingly gritty.

Lynnderella - Birthday Fairy (Green)

A few weeks ago, I posted another Lynnderella Birthday Fairy but this is the latest iteration of the Birthday Fairy and this one is GREEN! Or maybe more of a blue-leaning green bordering on turquoise. I'm enjoying some sushi as I write this post and I'm quite happy, just thought I would share that with you all.

As for this version of Birthday Fairy, I chose to layer it over Contrary Polish Make Believe Reality which is a minty jelly with pink shimmer. I wanted to make this Birthday Fairy look as squishy and jelly as its pink sister. So, this is 2 coats of Contrary Polish and 2 coats of the Lynnderella. This Birthday Fairy has much more bar glitter and glitter in general than its pink sister. I would also say I'm more partial to the pink version even though this has a lovely blue shimmer. I used two layers of top coat to ensure a smooth finish. I also wore this over Sally Hansen Big Peel Off Base Coat to make removal easy and, I must say, I love the SH glitter base much more than the OPI version. It's amazing.

Lynnderella polishes can be purchased on eBay or Storenvy

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Shimmering Sandcastles

I need to get to the beach ASAP. It is so cold and dark here in Toronto. It doesn't help that I'm up before 6AM every day for work. However, I love my (new!) job and the brutal commute it totally worth it for the time being. Speaking of my new job, this was the nail polish I wore on my first day!

Shimmering Sandcastles was the Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer half of the Surf & Sand Destination Duo collaboration with Ellagee. Shimmering Sandcastles is just so delicate and beautiful and my pictures don't capture how complex it is in real life. The Mercurial Magpie has a really awesome macro so you can see what I mean. I wore 2 coats with a glossy top coat, no application issues whatsoever and this polish wears really well! One of my new faves.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Never Danced Like This Before

If anyone were to ask what my favorite colour is, I'd say pink withouth hesitation. Yes, I'm 26 years old and pink is still my favorite colour. However, when it comes to nail polish, I'm a blue lover through and through. Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Never Danced Like This Before is no exception.

Where do I begin? Formula: flawless, practically a one-coater that applied smoothly and evenly. I used two coats for these photos and then finished off with a QDTC. This polish wore really well for the three days it was on my nails. I barely had any tip wear which makes me a happy camper. I loved how this polish looked in direct light (the holo arc is so strong!) but the added shimmers really make it awesome in any lighting. I'm kind of sad I only have a mini bottle of this (I purchased it second-hand in a blog sale as I believe this is sold out now).

The name of this polish comes from this song by Milky Chance. Which, unfortunately, was played to death here in Canada last year. I hate when radio stations do that! This polish will never be played out because it's amazing and nothing short of the usual awesomeness from Julie at Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer!

More Ever After Polishes! Something Blue, Princess Cake, Stuffed and Falling

So, I'm totally falling in love with Ever After Polish. And to show my love, I have beautiful swatches to share with you all.

Something Blue was part of Rachel's Wedding Duo and boy, oh boy, is it gorgeous. This is a stunning jelly blue with multi-coloured flakies. I am wearing 2 coats and no top coat for the pictures. Yes, it's THAT glossy. Ugh, love it.

Next up is Stuffed which was the Thanksgiving Mystery polish. It's not my favorite but it's very unique. I am wearing 3 coats but it's still kind of sheer. I can't put my finger on what I don't love about it but I know lots of other ladies love it!

Okay now Falling is a polish I can obsess over. Where do I begin? Shimmer, flakies, jelly base? All of it together makes for the most amazing nail polish I've worn in a while. Yum! I am wearing 2 coats and it's so glossy and gorgeous. I am obsessed.

Here is Princess Cake which is a polish that I could permanently wear on my nails. It's so freaking delicate with the prettiest little bit of holo and silver flakies. Ah! This polish was made for dainty polish lovers, like me.

AAAAAND one big last picture of Something Blue because it's ah-freaking-mazing!

Ever After Feminine Chic Collection - Cin & Threshold

Ever After is a small but mighty indie nail polish brand that I finally got around to trying recently. Like many of you I am sure, Black Friday sales were a huge motivator in trying new brands. With a tempting 25% off on Black Friday, I figured now was the time to try Ever After! I picked up quite a few polishes as well as some Cuticle Crelli. Cin and Threshold are my two picks from Ever After's Fall Collection: Feminine Chic. I would have loved to grab Sashay but it was Sold Out at the time (though it is coming back). Note: Ever After is super awesome at bringing back popular polishes that sell out. Yay for listening to customers! Also, their Customer Service is awesome!!

First up is Ever After Cin. I am assuming it's named Cin because it's cinnfully delicious like cinnamon buns, obviously (haha). Can you tell I'm hungry and just watched a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode featuring a cinnamon bun the size of my head? Anyway, this polish is otherworldly. The formula is absolutely FANTASTIC: opaque in two coats, glossy without a top coat, just the right amount of flakies, a truly beautiful shimmer and just the right amount of holo arc. This is so unique in my collection and I can see myself wearing it a lot because it's so elegant yet fun.

My second pick from the Feminine Chic Collection is Threshold. This polish is so stunning. It's a beautiful cranberry colour with a TON of multi-coloured flakies and holo. I love this polish so much and, again, the formula is perfection. I love when polishes maintain their shine as they dry. This is three easy coats.

Colors by Llarowe Chasing A Unicorn

Colors by Llarowe Chasing A Unicorn

So, everyone on the internet was all freaked out by Colors by Llarowe's Chasing A Unicorn which is supposed to be the closest thing to a white holographic yet. Note that this is called Chasing A Unicorn... we still haven't found it. This polish is underwhelming, I'm sad to say.

It comes with a "color correcting base" and then a separate bottle with a white holo. If you apply too many coats of the base, it affects the white holo top. Two coats of base seems to be the general consensus for the best effect but it was streaky and thin at two coats. I then applied one coat of the Chasing A Unicorn holo. It's pretty white and definitely not grey like many holo toppers but the holo is so weak and it just lays flat except in bright light. And, even then, it's kind of a non-event.

Keep chasing that unicorn, nail poish friends. Maybe one day we'll find it.

Properties of Light Destination Duo - Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer & Digital Nails

Today we have the November 2015 Destination Duo which is a collaboration between Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer and another indie maker (different each month). This Duo was inspired by Raphaelle's (the creator of Digital Nails) trip to Brussels Town Hall during her trip to Belgium. If you read our blog, you know how much I love blues so I knew I had to have this duo.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacuqer Irrlict is a bright cobalt blue with tons of flakies, holo dust, shimmer PLUS it's blue light reactive. I am wearing 2 coats plus top coat as it dries matte. Great formula and dries really fast.

Digital Nails Illumine la Nuit is a clear-based topper with green, blue and purple iridescent flakies and microholo glitter. I used one coat to top Irrlict for the perfect winter nail look. I finished the mani off with top coat. Super awesome formula on Digital Nails; this was my first time encountering the brand and I am super impressed.

You can purchase the duo from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer here or Digital Nails here.

Femme Fatale - Midsummer Night's Dream Collection {My Picks}

Happy New Year! We hope your 2015 was great and that 2016 will be even more streets ahead for you! You read the title correctly... we are posting Femme Fatale's Midsummer Night's Dream Collection on a cold January. But, Femme Fatale is based in Australia AAAAND this collection was released in September. These are the polishes we picked up from a total of seven polishes.

Love's Wound is a pink lilac loaded with green and golden shimmer. It's truly unique and mesmerizing. I am wearing 2 coats and, as you can see, I applied the coats too thickly as it streaked a little. Oops. Love this.

Liquid Pearl is another totally unique and awesome standout from the collection. I love the way this transforms at every angle and lighting. I am wearing 3 coats as it is a little sheer (intentionally) to allow the flakies to stand out.

Spangled Starlight is so awesome. I decided to layer one coat over a purple-toned grey (China Glaze Change Your Altitude) for a delicate look. Valesha at Peachy Polish wore it over Zoya Caitlin for a different look which I also love. I love how sparkly and elegant this topper is. You could also wear it alone in about 3 coats if you prefer a mega glitter look.

But A Dream is a really cool sheer blue frost with pink shimmer. I honestly love this polish especially on my short nails. I don't imagine this would look great on longer nails with a lot of white tip. You could definitely layer it over a light baby blue to enjoy it though!

Lastly we have Maiden's Patience which is a pearly crelly with silver hexes and greenish shimmer. I wanted to love this one so much but the formula kind of sucked and it definitely doesn't look as nice as I expected it to. Disappointed. Three coats here.

I purchased these in a group buy with The Lazy Lacquerista directly from Femme Fatale Cosmetics in Australia.
